History
Vezia lies at the foot of the San Martino hill, at the gates of Lugano. The municipality is home to Villa Negroni, built between the 17th and 18th centuries and among the most prestigious residences in Ticino, which in the 19th century sheltered Italian and Polish patriots such as Tadeusz Kościuszko. Now owned by the city of Lugano, the villa today houses the Centro Studi Bancari.
