History
Torricella-Taverne stretches along the right bank of the Vedeggio river, between Lugano and the Malcantone, with documentary mentions dating back to the 13th century. The hamlet of Taverne preserves traces of its old castle, once a stronghold along the valley's communication routes. The once-agricultural plain today also hosts industrial and commercial development.
