Sorengo

History

Sorengo lies on a rise between Lake Lugano and the small Lake Muzzano, first recorded in 1189 as a holding of the San Lorenzo chapter. From a rural village tied to monasteries and noble families it became, after the war, a residential municipality, home among other things to Franklin University Switzerland. Its panoramic setting between the two bodies of water remains one of its distinctive features.
