History

Riviera was formed by the merger of six villages in the lower Ticino valley, including Cresciano, world-famous among boulder climbers for its gneiss rocks. The territory stretches along the Ticino river, hemmed in by the wooded slopes of the Ticino Alps. Terraced vineyards and old stone hamlets still dot the valley's landscape.

Villages

This municipality was formed by merging several historic villages, each with its own postal code.
