History

Pura lies at the heart of the Malcantone, the hilly region of the Lugano area known for its chestnut woods, once a source of local livelihood. Gathered around its church, the village keeps the typical look of the old stone hamlets of the Malcantone. The hills open onto views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
