Personico

History

Personico lies in the upper Leventina valley along the Ticino river, not far from the Chironico gorge shaped by a prehistoric landslide. The area is marked by quarries of Leventina gneiss, a stone used for centuries in local construction. Stone houses and chestnut woods still recall the valley's traditional way of life.
