Paradiso

History

As its name suggests, Paradiso occupies one of the most striking stretches of Lake Lugano's shore, at the foot of Monte San Salvatore. The funicular climbing to the summit departs right from the village, offering from the top a panorama over the Alps and the Po plain. The lakeside promenade with its gardens, once a simple fishing suburb, is today among the most densely populated districts of the Lugano area.
