Novazzano

History

At the southernmost edge of Ticino, right against the Italian border, Novazzano is surrounded by vineyards that make it one of the wine-growing centers of the Mendrisiotto. The medieval church of Santi Nazaro e Celso testifies to the ancient roots of a settlement along routes that have linked Ticino to Lombardy for centuries. The hilly, merlot-planted landscape opens out toward the Po plain.
