Manno

History

In the lower Vedeggio valley, between Lugano and Agno airport, Manno has shifted in a few decades from a farming village into a hub for Ticino's IT and research sector, hosting tech companies and university institutes. The old village core, with its church, remains a pocket of calm beside the modern industrial zones. The surrounding Vedeggio plain was long the site of agricultural land reclamation.
