Linescio

History

In the Val Rovana, a side valley of the Maggia, Linescio is a hamlet of stone houses climbing the slope among chestnut woods, a well-preserved example of Ticino alpine architecture. Once shaped by herding and seasonal emigration, the village keeps a small church and cobbled lanes largely unchanged by time. The valley continues toward Cerentino and Bosco Gurin, at the foot of the Valais Alps.
