Gravesano

History

Gravesano lies in the Vedeggio valley on the edge of Lugano and holds a place in 20th-century music history as home to the experimental studio of conductor Hermann Scherchen, a pioneer of electronic music in Europe. The village's farming-rooted core looks out over the cultivated plain stretching toward Agno airport. Its closeness to the city has gradually turned it into a residential commune.
