Cerentino

History

Cerentino lies in the Valle Rovana, a side valley of the Maggia region, not far from the Walser village of Bosco/Gurin. Stone houses with slab-stone roofs, typical of Ticino's alpine architecture, cluster around the church amid forests and pastures. Like many villages in the valley, it saw heavy emigration to Europe and the Americas during the 19th century.
