Caslano

History

Caslano sits on Lake Lugano at the foot of Monte Caslano, a wooded headland that juts out like a peninsula into the water, and was for centuries a village of fishermen and boatmen. The town is now home to the Alprose chocolate museum, while the Monte Caslano promontory is protected as a nature reserve. Its small harbor and sandy shores still make it a favorite spot on the lake.
