History
Formed by the merger of several valley communes, Capriasca has its main village and service center in Tesserete. The region stretches between Lake Origlio and the wooded slopes of Monte Bar, a land of chestnut groves and meadows that has long drawn people from Lugano seeking fresh air. Small churches and rural hamlets still mark the scattered settlements across the valley.
