History
Set in the Val Bavona, one of Switzerland's most spectacular alpine landscapes, Campo Vallemaggia gathers tiny hamlets built among erratic boulders and waterfalls. The splüi, shelters beneath massive granite blocks used as stables and dwellings, testify to centuries of human adaptation to an extreme environment. Nearly uninhabited in winter, the valley was for generations a place of harsh farming and pastoral life.
