History
On the Magadino plain, Cadenazzo has for over a century been an important railway junction, where lines toward the Gotthard and toward the Locarno region split. The area, once prone to flooding from the Ticino river, was drained between the 19th and 20th centuries, turning marshland into farmland. The station and rail tracks remain central to the village's identity today.
