History
Situated at the confluence of the Ticino and Brenno rivers, Biasca has long been a crossroads between the Leventina, the Blenio Valley, and the Riviera district. The town preserves the Romanesque church of Santi Pietro e Paolo, one of the canton's most important medieval monuments, perched on a rocky spur. A historic transit point toward the Gotthard, it remains today a major rail and road junction.
